Framed by a blur of raised hands and phone screens, she leans in toward the barrier with the ease of someone who has done this a hundred times and still means it. Her hair falls straight and warm-toned past her shoulders, and the pale lace edge of her dress catches the artificial light spilling across the line. The smile is real, caught mid-sentence, eyes fixed on someone just out of frame. Behind her the crowd presses close: photographers with lenses up, an assistant angling a phone, a woman in dark eyeliner watching intently. In the foreground, out-of-focus arms and a flash of neon green dissolve into color. The night hums with that particular premiere energy, chaotic and generous all at once.
This photograph was taken on 17 October 2025 at the BFI London Film Festival, where Christy was shown a month after its premiere in Toronto. Sweeney met the crowd on the red carpet and then introduced the film on stage. She plays the boxer Christy Martin, and is also one of the producers of the film.
