Sydney Sweeney onstage in lace at the Christy screening, London

Caught mid-answer on a darkened festival stage, she holds the microphone loosely at her side, chin lifted, a wide and unguarded smile breaking across her face. The gown does much of the talking: a cream satin corset bodice, ruched and boned, gathered above a sweep of blush lace that falls to a ruffled hem she gathers in one hand, the way one does when navigating a stage in something floor-length. Sheer lace sleeves and a high collar soften the structure beneath. Her long hair falls in loose waves over one shoulder. Behind her, the projection screen glows pale gold against black, and at the edge of the frame a second figure waits with another microphone, the quiet machinery of a post-screening conversation in progress.

This photograph was taken on 17 October 2025 at the BFI London Film Festival, where Christy was shown a month after its premiere in Toronto. Sweeney met the crowd on the red carpet and then introduced the film on stage. She plays the boxer Christy Martin, and is also one of the producers of the film.
