Sydney Sweeney greets the crowd at the Christy screening in London

Caught between the barrier and the crowd, she leans in, both hands lifted in that universal gesture of delighted disbelief, mouth open mid-sentence as though answering three people at once. Her pale pink dress catches the wash of stage light, soft and slightly iridescent against the darker coats around her. Long honey-brown hair falls loose past her shoulders; a small earring glints. All around her, arms rise with phones held high, and the foreground dissolves into blurred hands and shoulders, so the photograph feels less like a portrait than a glimpse stolen through the scrum. Faces behind the rail watch intently, some smiling, some concentrating on their screens. The light is theatrical and a little chaotic, pink and violet, and she seems entirely at home inside it.

This photograph was taken on 17 October 2025 at the BFI London Film Festival, where Christy was shown a month after its premiere in Toronto. Sweeney met the crowd on the red carpet and then introduced the film on stage. She plays the boxer Christy Martin, and is also one of the producers of the film.
