Caught mid-sentence with a bright, open smile, she leans slightly forward and lifts a hand toward someone just out of frame, the gesture of a person picking one voice out of many. Her long honey-blonde hair falls in loose waves over a tan trench coat worn open across a pale top, a practical layer for a cool night outdoors. Around her the crowd presses close: a man in dark clothing to her left, faces half-turned, shoulders and backs of heads blurred in the foreground, phone screens glowing like small lanterns. The lighting is warm and artificial, catching her cheekbones and hair while leaving the draped backdrop behind her in shadow. It is the familiar choreography of a festival screening, part greeting line, part conversation.
This photograph was taken on 17 October 2025 at the BFI London Film Festival, where Christy was shown a month after its premiere in Toronto. Sweeney met the crowd on the red carpet and then introduced the film on stage. She plays the boxer Christy Martin, and is also one of the producers of the film.
