Late sun rakes across the step-and-repeat, catching the ivory of her caped jacket and the pale gold of her hair, swept back and loosely pinned. The tailoring is crisp, almost architectural at the shoulder, softened by cream fabric blooms and a scatter of gilded leaves at the lapel. Her mouth is painted a clear red, her chin lifted, her gaze traveling somewhere past the nearest lens with the composed patience of someone who has been photographed for several minutes already. To her right, a dark-haired companion in a scoop-neck dress and a glittering collar looks the other way; to her left, a bespectacled gentleman in a charcoal suit laughs outright. Behind them, the TIFF logos repeat in tidy rows, a Toronto evening in full swing.
